Platinum Jewelry

Platinum can easily be considered the ultimate in precious metals. With a purity generally between the 90 to 95-percent level, platinum alloys are commonly combined with other rare platinum group metals.

Platinum 95% Ruthenium 5% — This has a long track record as a reliable casting material with good hardness and working characteristics.

Platinum 90% Iridium 10% — This is a great all-around alloy that will not oxidize and has been widely used for years in both casting and fabrication.

Platinum S+2 — This is best used for tension set pieces or other applications where very high strength is needed.
