Computer Aided Design

Utilizing technology that was previously reserved for automakers and architects, John Anthony uses SpaceClaim, a computer-aided design (CAD) program that helps to form photo-realistic 3-D models of his custom creations. With a visual image of the completed design, clients can review, edit any part of the design before it is actually produced, giving them a far more active role in the design process.

Selecting from the program’s 400 plus prototypes or creating his own, John Anthony develops a digital model of the jewelry piece, which is then built into a resin model by a prototype lab and used to make a casting mold. John Anthony then uses his fine-tuned skills and tools to set gemstones into the jewelry designs, and apply any needed finishing touches.

Currently, John Anthony Designer is the only custom jewelry designer in the Burlington area to use this technology.
